The architecture efficiently scales from Autonomic Policies applied to a single business application running on a few servers to Autonomic Policies used to implement utility computing for Web portal content across tens of thousands of servers.

The Oasis architecture includes a security model that incorporates digitally signed inter-process messaging between all servers and agents.

Oasis Components

Oasis is comprised of a number of powerful components, including:

Oasis Policy Builder
Provides the primary graphical user interface (GUI) for creating Autonomic Policies. It includes a State Policy Builder, a Schedule Policy Builder, and an Action Plan Builder and allows for the creation and management of both simple and complex Autonomic Policies.

Oasis Policy Watch
Provides the user with unparalleled run-time visibility into executing policies. Custom filters allow highly user-specific views of the policies.

Oasis Orchestrator
Is a highly scalable and intelligent engine for managing the execution of Autonomic Policies. The Orchestrator “communicates” with all managed resources via TouchPoints.

Oasis TouchPoint
Sits on top of a managed resource and provides monitoring, analyzing and executing functionality. The Oasis TouchPoint implements both sensor and effector interfaces to provide monitoring and execution functionality.

Oasis Autonomic Policy Library
Is a repository containing all defined policies, Action Plans, data sets, and sensor and effector definitions.
