Optinuity Introduces C20 Version 2.0 In Support Of Service Oriented Architectures
IT Process Management Platform Will Significantly Reduce Web Service Support Costs and Enhance Interoperability
Bethesda, Md. - November 28, 2005 - Optinuity, Inc., a provider of IT automation software, recently released version 2.0 of its flagship C2O™ Operations Process Management platform with additional features that support Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Web Services interoperability. The updated release of Optinuity's software, which streamlines data center operations, adds support for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) client calls to various Web Services in order to extract data or determine the status of an operation as part of an automated application maintenance routine developed in C2O. This allows operations departments within large organizations to efficiently manage heterogeneous IT environments, while decreasing the staff resources required to support composite applications comprised of proprietary, Unix, Java, Windows, .Net and Web Service components. "Large organizations are integrating legacy with service-oriented approaches to application delivery because of the customization and flexibility it offers. But along with added functionality comes dramatically increased complexity that can require up to 80% of IT staff resources to maintain continuity," said Scott Stouffer, CEO of Optinuity. "The features contained in the updated version of C2O will extend the capability to automate routine application maintenance procedures to organizations with heterogeneous production environments that may also incorporate SOAs. We're the process automation glue that ties together disparate application components and architectures in a standardized, organized way."
In addition to SOAP support, several new features are found in V 2.0 including:
"The operating system environment here is very mixed with GCOS7 (Bull), AIX 4.3, Microsoft NT and Unix. We needed a single heterogeneous tool that could schedule jobs and execute process workflows across the incredibly diverse set of platforms we support," said Kirk Greene, Sr. Systems Architect for Galveston County IT. "Optinuity's C2O V 2.0 accommodates all of these varied technologies and will support any efforts in the future to expose some processes as Web Services."
By providing IT operations with the platform required for a disciplined approach to the development, deployment, and documentation of repeatable procedures, C2O streamlines and automates complex applications processing tasks such as distributed report generation, speeds problem resolution and disaster recovery, and simplifies administrative tasks such as restarting services or performing maintenance.
Unlike pre-packaged solutions that provide inflexible, partial responses, C2O process development and execution occur within a common framework that allows customization, rapid prototyping, and easy validation. The net result is dramatic improvements in staff efficiency for day-to-day operations and increased applications availability due to fewer incidents and shortened resolution times. C2O also meets demanding enterprise requirements for easy deployment, security, scalability, and controls compliance.
Optinuity is demonstrating their C2O software at the Gartner Data Center Summit 2005 Conference being held Dec. 5 - 7 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
